Footpacking

We have had 40 inches of snow since October 13.  Our average snowfall  for October is 18".  We are starting to see some significant natural accumulation in key areas.  The Ski Patrol has been ski cutting and foot packing in Lenawee Parks, Norway, and the West Wall. This afternoon I joined them for a couple of passes in the Parks. I was impressed.  We have a lot of snow for November 1 with more coming Monday. On snowmaking trails we have about 18-24" of man made snow. Our natural snow base is 14". I would call it a very deep 14". Typically, we start opening non-snowmaking trails like Lenawee Parks, Humbug, and West Wall when the natural base is in the 20-25" range.
