Winter or Spring?

After a very warm week and a couple of inches of snow, the weather has turned back to winter. Today was crisp and beautiful and a little on the chilly side. Peole were still having fun and the East Wall drew a few takers. Enjoy today's photos.

Curious as to whether there are any plans to add power for additional snowmaking in the Montezuma Bowl. Storage tanks for stream runnoff hroughout the year for snowmaking? Permitting for water and impact with your ski area?

Hey James,

We have no plans for snowmaking in Monezuma Bowl. Your suggestion about a storage tank on the mountain for snowmaking is a good one. We do have a 5.5 acre foot reservoir in the base for snowmaking. At this time there are no other plans for additional storage. To date, we have not figured out a good place for another tank or reservoir without impacting the skiing and riding too much. Let me know if you have any location suggestions.
