"It's Just Good"

Outside Black Mountain Lodge this afternoon, someone adamantly told me over and over, "It's Just Good". I couldn't agree more. 5" new this morning. It snowed most of the day. Snowing nicely right now. Great forecast for snow. Everywhere I went today, Slalom Slope, The Spine, The Face, Standard, International, Wavy Gravy, Black Bear, Long Chute, Elephant's Trunk, The Crags, North Fork and  Half-Moon Glades was outstanding.....no I mean OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!

Beacon Bowl Gear

There is all kinds of good stuff available at The Beacon Bowl including beacons, packs, shovels, probes, Monarch snowcat tours, clothing, skis, snowboards, sports memorabilia, and more. Some of the gear will actually be prizes for the beacon contest. The rest of the stuff will be available through a raffle, silent auction, and live auction. All proceeds go to the CAIC. Over the years, the auctions and raffle have become one of my regular "shopping days". In past Beacon Bowls I have picked up a beacon, shovel, probe, sleeping bag, lots of clothing, and more goodies. Come join the fun. It is a great party for a great cause.

Another Day In The Salt Mines

Just another really nice day at The Basin. It was a bit brisk, but the snow quality is perfect. The "AWE" factor was pretty high. The weather forecast may be coming together for another good storm. You might want to be thinking about "Skiing The Storm" Friday and Saturday.
