Enjoy the view from a hike out in Y Chute over the weekend.

Cool shot, Al. What's the best way to hike up there?

Yes. I have asked that before. It seems the official way is to traverse the whole wall and hike the stair. I have also heard to hike from the cdot station is an option (not sure if can get pass holders in trouble) But from Wrangler to the ridge seems like a sensible route

Traversing the wall to the staircase is how you access the tree and y chutes. From the cdot station would be a no go. The traverse is not bad, and the views looking up and down make it a worthwhile trip.

That was my impression. I don't have a split board. Traversing the whole thing with no poles to push trough the ups and downs is not fun despite the views.

Access from wrangler (see picture) does not seem like an investment other that patrolling. It seems shorter than the north pole ridge hike.
