2nd Notch

We had an exciting run today slipping into "2nd Notch." Getting in there is definitely tricky. Once you get through the very narrow choke of an entrance, the chute opens up a bit. We clicked into our skis and enjoyed some fine couloir skiing. It is one of those classic "not for everyone" type of A-Basin runs." The view isn't bad.

There is a rope now? Is this new? I've never seen it while down climbing into 2nd notch before.

Al,
I haven't peered into 2nd notch in a few years, but I remember the pucker factor looking into the entrance in past years and have opted for 1st notch instead. Is that rope fixed up there now to help folks get into the thing, or did you bring it with you and remove it when you were finished? I may have to get up there and ski the thing if there is now a fixed rope to help get into the thing.

Last may was the first and only time I’ve seen second notch filled in from the top.
