Let's Call It A Foot

We reported 11" new at 5 AM this morning. It is still snowing so let's just call it a foot. Snow started yesterday late afternoon. Almost all of it is still untouched. We had light/moderate Southeast winds. That should fill The Basin in very nicely. See you at Pali Lift.

Party Wednesday Night

The Enduro is tomorrow, Wednesday, April 13. Great event during the day and even more fun Wednesday night. We will be having a great fundraiser and party at the A-Frame from 5:30 to 8:30. Dinner is $15 for adults and $10 for kids. We'll have outstanding live music from the local band Hi 5. The silent auction items have been pouring in the door. Come and stock up on all your local goods and services. PLEASE PLEASE come. Everyone is welcome. We will have a fantastic time. All proceeds go to the Leif Borgeson Memorial Fund.

Rock Work on I-70

Pulled this photo off the Summit Daily website. Looks like CDOT got their rock scaling work done in one day instead of the scheduled two days. Sounds like there might be some occasional stops, but for the most part, people should be able to get to The Basin with minimal delays. Thanks for your patience on this one.

The Enduro

The Arpapahoe Basin Enduro is being held Wednesday, April 13. Proceeds from the event will go to the Leif Borgeson Memorial Fund. The Enduro is a 10 hour endurance event held on Pali Lift. Teams of 2 people ski 20 designated routes on the North Side from 7 AM until 5 PM. While a few teams are highly competitive, skiing nearly 70 runs, other teams are more relaxed enjoying a full day of skiing with friends. This year following the event there will be an apres ski party, dinner party, and silent auction from 5:30 to 8:30 in the A-Frame. With this year's donation recipient being so close to us all, we have had tremendous interest in participation. While we are actively trying to squeeze more people in, we do have limits to space and may not be able to quite fit everybody in the Enduro itself. For all those interested in being involved or contributing, there will be ample opportunities to donate at the evening party. This a very special event put together with the help and positive energy from the participants, sponsors, lift operators, lift mechanics, ski patrollers, food and beverage staff, events/marketing group, and many others. Please join us for a great day and help support the Leif Borgeson Memorial Fund.

Yesterday I came in on my day off with Kay and a couple friends and skied for a few hours. While we were here, it was snowing extremely heavily. The storm was so intense that each run was better than the last. At about 1 PM, I came over the Roll and looked down at the Face and it was almost completely untracked. It looked the way it does when you are one of the first people off Pali Lift on a big powder day at 9 AM. Needless to say, not many feelings better than a bunch of face-shots while skiing The Face. Good way to spend the day with friends.
