14" From The Storm
Wow. This was a great storm. 6" more overnight bringing the total to 14". We might get one or two more still this morning. Over the next the couple of days we are expected a couple more waves of moisture. We tend to do well with those spring orographic bursts. And then it looks like a spectacular warm weekend. I would call that prime "Beaching at the Basin" weather.

Thank you, Al, for introducing the term "orographic burst" to my vocabulary! I've know of the phenomenon, but never imagined it had such a cool name!
Great news! Any chance of opening up some of the Pali terrain?
Any indication as to when you might close the slopes to weekends only and also when you'll shut her down for the season? Would love to make one more trip this season!
Would love to fly out for a day trip but need some DD. I came out April 19th last year with a foot of dry pow. Rode all day, got vertigo during a white out on the east wall--awesome. Flew back at 8:30. Whatt a day! Open it up and I'll come. Woo hoo!
Orographic?
