Independence Pass is an incredible place to watch the US Pro Cycling Challenge. Yesterday, Patio and I parked a vehicle above Twin Lakes and rode our bikes to the top of Independence Pass. What a scene. One guy had a full sound system and there was a raging dance party going on. The Honey Stinger guy has some nice moves. The whole party was reminiscent of a Beach Saturday in April. I am fairly certain I have seen that Elvis at The Basin.
The race itself was quite impressive. Tom Danielson looked great going over the top leading TeeJay and the other big guns by 2 or 3 minutes. I was happy to see him win. The peloton sure scared him at the end. He deserved the win. I highly recommend going to one of the races. Watching the event on TV is great and I do it each night, but being there is a whole new world.

Right on! Way to represent A-basin at the Pro Cycle Challenge! Get them to come over Loveland next year- then you will really see a beach party at the Basin!
I am with you on Loveland Pass. It would be the coolest, rowdiest stage of all.
Can you image the scene at The Basin if the US Pro Challenge went by?
Hey Alan-
Unrelated question, but thought this might be the best way to ask? Will A-Basin be selling 4-packs at any of the Ski shows? Price?
Thanks!
Yes, 4-packs for sale at Sniagrab for $139.
Good to see you and Pat on Indy pass. After the crowds on swam last year, a summit finish on Loveland pass would be insane. Imagine last chance parking lot filled with race team and tv vehicles !
Indeed. That Elvis has been to the Basin more than a few times. Built 3 hours before the Swan Mtn stage last year the costume needs an upgrade.
I look like I'm about to puke on my shoes in that shot, but I'm gearing up for a patented Elvis karate kick.
Saw you up there Alan with the Pug Ryan crew. See you this winter.
Lobby hard for a Loveland Pass stage in 2013. Right out the back door!
