East Wall

Good start to the storm, 4" new this morning.

Obviously, the East Wall is starting to look pretty good. With  4" of new snow today and more in the forecast the next few days, the outlook is bright. You will continue to see lots of patrol activity out there with ski cutting and explosives in North Pole and The Tree Chutes and avalauncher use high in the middle portion of the Wall. So, my official East Wall opening date statement has changed from "I don't know" to "Fairly soon." Stay tuned, I am feeling pretty good about this.

In the past when hiking I just take my skis off. I was curious how well those ski skins that enable for you to climb with skis on are used by any staff on the mountain. Are they worth getting for use on a basin?

Need snow bad!! Another fail of a storm :-/ Should have had feet, got a dusting instead...again. I am dancing, burning things, throwing things, and singing things trying to get it to snow.

Don't be too discouraged. The place is skiing really well. There is nothing wrong with 9" in 3 days.

There may have not been any one huge day, but there has been 20 inches of snow reported in the last week. Snow every day makes for very solid skiing and riding.
