BML Sound Abatement

I think we all know Black Mountain Lodge is a beautiful building in a beautiful setting. We have shared plenty of good times in there. And the food ain't bad either.

Many of you, however, have told us the sound in the building is not quite perfect. In fact, it can be loud. Well this summer, we hung several panels of sound absorbing panels from the ceiling to try and take the edge off the noise in there. Throughout the summer wedding season it seems to be working. As winter rolls around and we enjoy the ambiance of Black Mountain Lodge, you will have to let me know if you think this has made an impact.

That's great, Al. I have a hearing sensitivity (I'm sure more of your guests do than might be realized - mine is Meniere's and it can be downright painful to be in loud places). I'll check it out - I am usually at the Basin midweek or late season when it's less crowded, but any noise abatement seems good to me!

Thankfully y'all replaced the incredibly noisy hand driers in the BLM restrooms a season ago or so. The previous ones made me flee sometimes.

Rob Winfrey - My girlfriend Audre rates the noise factor in each restaurant/bar that we go into. And we have
never found one that she didn't think was too noisey. Then one day we were at an outdoor venue, with nothing
but grass. You are correct - she thought that the outside venue was too noisey.

Moral of the story - When you get a bunch of people together that are having a good time
and imbibing alchohaulic beverages, it is noisy. And it doesn't bother me, because I am one of the
ones having a good time.
