Our snowmaking reservoir is just about full. Our strategy for snowmaking is to, during and just before snowmaking season, divert water from the stream at a very slow rate to the snowmaking reservoir. That way there is never any big impact on the stream from big diversions. Our snowmaking system pumps water from the reservoir up through our pipeline system to hydrants to hoses and to snowmaking fan guns.
It looks like we are going to have some snow and very cold temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday. That will be followed by a return to more seasonal temperatures. It is just a little too early start making snow. Although it is tempting.
