First Dusting
It is definitely fall. We had the first dusting of snow on Black and Lenawee Mountains. The entire ski patrol is here doing their annual refresher. Lift inspections are tomorrow. Boxes and boxes of hats and gloves are showing up at Arapahoe Sports. The food guys are testing new recipes and products. New employees are starting to show up. The anticipation is building.

Moose
Cable is spliced
The cable was spliced last week and is now in place. That is always an exciting process to watch. Actually, it is quite amazing to see the rope splicers working their craft. Chair assembly began this morning and by week's end we should see them hanging on the cable. The Black Mountain Express Load Test is scheduled for next week. All going according to plan.
We are still having warm days and cool nights. The aspens in Summit County are approaching their peak gold colors. The snow guns are in place and the snowmakers are just waiting for that first cold snap. I expect we will be making snow by next week.
