What A Day

Check out this great photo by Tim Gormley.

Just a a beautiful day with lots going on. Sunny all morning with clouds moving in late. It is snowing heavily now, Sunday night.

The East Wall opened mid-morning following the 20" storm. I was one of the first hikers up North Pole. Great powder skiing all the way down. Slid out the traverse and found more untracked skiing under Birthday Chute.

We had over 100 7-13 year olds skiing a Devo Freestyle Dual Moguls event on Lower International. Very cool. Lots of great skiing and jumping. Those kids define how fun skiing can be. The highlight of the event for me was the forerunners competing head to head. The skiers were Rex Wehrman and Justin Henceroth. Despite using big fat powder skis, those two can still turn it on and love to compete.

Zuma cam. Coming along very slowly. The camera is here. The welder has finished the mount. The IT guy met with the electrician and lift maintenance manager to connect power. The phone line guy is here next week. I know......slow. We will get it. It will be cool, but it has not quite been at the top of the list. Sorry for the delay.
