Montezuma Bowl is Closed - For Now...

I am afraid I have to share some bad news with you. Montezuma Bowl and Lift are closed, at least for now. This season’s unseasonably warm temperatures, below average snowfall, and wind events have prompted this early closure. Based on long term weather records, April is our snowiest month and April and May have a combined snowfall average of seven feet. If the temperatures, precipitation, and Montezuma Bowl snow cover return to more normal levels, we have every intention of re-opening the Bowl. Stay tuned for updates.

I know this is disappointing, but the good news is that we are having some incredible spring skiing, albeit a little early. Come join us for some great fun on the Beach and on the front side.

Hey, you guys did your best to keep it open as long as you did. We skied the backside on Friday but it was getting a bit risky. Hope the April snow gods are active.

Hi Al: Had an epic afternoon all over the mountain yesterday afternoon. Glad I made it to 'Zuma; the skiing was fantastic. Thanks for all the blog updates. They really add to my enjoyment of the mountain by keeping me posted on events, and more importantly, conditions and status for the mountain. Keep it up. Thanks, Brian

When is Zuma Bowl going to re-open? I'm still waiting! Just checked the webcams again and while it doesn't look skiable, High Noon does! You will need to have the Cats move some snow at the bottom of BMX but very doable!

I too have skied Abasin for dozens of years and am sad Vail once again obviously strong armed this. People, move over to the Monarch One World pass, its amazing and something Vail could not do in their dreams...

I however, will still visit the beach from time to time...
