MGD - Long Chute

The MGD (Max, Groswold, Durrance) and Long Chute zone is one of my favorite areas to ski at The Basin, especially on a big powder day. A big chunk of the area is velvet smooth grassy tundra and becomes excellent skiing early in the Montezuma Bowl opening. During that big mid-winter storm cycle last season, the skiing here was over the top incredible.

I'll never forget watching the 2/16/13 avalanche in this area from the lift. I hope conditions are solid this year as I'd still love to ski it.
