What's up with the Beavers??? You guys clearing trees already or what's going on? When is the new lift going in? Next summer? Can you give us an update Al? Thanks!

Waiting on final approval for the expansion, which is expected from the USFS (United States Forest Service) who is Arapahoe Basin's landlord, which is expected in November or December. Based on what Al has told other people and myself, it will take two years to completely get the expansion off the ground. If approved, the new trails will be cut next summer (2017) with directed skiing the following winter (2017-2018). The Beavers fixed grip quad lift will be installed the next summer (2018) and the entire expansion will be complete and open the following winter (2018-2019). That is, if the project is approved in its entirety. Right now we are in holding pattern waiting for the final approval from the USFS.

We were all set to book New Years Eve dinner, then I saw that guests are not permitted to hike that night. All of the other lift-served nights allow hiking or lift access. Why not NYE? Really disappointed to miss it, but if we can't hike, we're out.

Yes, sorry about no hiking or skiing on New Year's Eve. With the event going later in the evening, we think is best to make this event lift served only. Sorry about that.
