Beaver Bowl

Here is a picture of a real photographer taking pictures of ski (and snowboard) models in Beaver Bowl. This image was snapped a few days ago. We anticipate the lift served portion of our Beavers project to be open well into May most years. Pretty darn good views and pretty darn good skiing. We are going to have some fun out there.

So next year the beavers is going to be hike back terrain. The hike looks like it goes directly through the run out of the slide paths for the steep gullies. This leads me to believe that the beavers won't be able to be open until all of the avalanche mitigation work is done on the steep Gillies? Is this the case?

Hi Gram, yes avalanche mitigation will have to be conducted in both the Beaver Bowl zone and the Steep Gullies prior to opening. This first season without the lift will be unique. The two zones will be linked when it comes to opening. We do lots of avalanche work, most of it either prior to opening lifts in the morning or prior to a seasonal trail opening. Once the initial avalanche work is established, the terrain will be open the vast majority of the time. There will be lots and lots of great skiing out there.

Will the runs be cut for the next season? Also, when will the ski map be updated?

There will be runs for next season although no chairlift yet. You will have to hike out in the 2017-18 season. The new trail map will come out mid to late summer.
