Al,
I remember the first time I skied deep powder. It was 1982 on Slalom Slope. The snow was from knee to waist and it was a mind boggling experience. Where I would have been making 12 turns in packed powder I was making 3 turns in the powder. It was like floating on a cloud.
Peace

Al,
To improve on challenging situations like yesterday (with road closure), how about if in the future you use this blog to give people real time updates (what is happening, what is known, what is unknown) about situations every 15-30 minutes and end the update with the time when a new update will be posted. The updates could even be "no new information."
Thanks

They were posting updates very frequently on social media. And there were updates on this blog. And you can always give them a call... can everyone stop hating on Abasin? A freaking avalanche covered the road! It was out of their control. They all had work to do. Everyone was busy.

For some people, this blog is the main site where they get info--nothing was posted on this site until 9:57am--I think the road closed before 8:30am. Asking for a staff person to spend a relatively small amount of time giving updates to its customers is a reasonable request.
These comments have nothing to do with "hating Abasin"--it's about learning from a sub-optimal communication experience to give input on how to improve communication in the future.

Twitter! It's for up to the minute updates. Abae and every major resort pays somebody to keep their twitter updated on days like this. That's not the COO's job.
This is Al's blog. Al owns it and he writes when what he wants, when he wants. Be happy to get a nice piece of his perspective on a regular basis.

Clearing the slide is CDOTs deal...
