Excellent news about the 4th. We'll be doing the 600 mile trip and there for all 4 days!

Al, How much of this snow is being machine made at this point to stay open?

Anonymous said...

Not a snow making machine in sight at A-Basin. 0% man/machine made since last October.

uh why waste money on snowmaking this time of year?? for one it doesn't get cold enough at night anymore to make it and 2 this isn't the midwest here. Can you say left over snow high in the mtns??? hahahaha

Al,

I looked in the webcam this morning and it looked like a solid 4" at the base?

Has it ever snowed in June this hard?
well, the never ending winter had its way again.........

cheers,

After riding the basin yesterday, I can completely understand why they'll be open. The pond is a blast and new natural snow kickers keep appearing all over the mountain. Cornice run is even starting to feel like the Zuma wall. I just wish the basin was still open during the week. I'm watching snow fall here in frisco and its a shame to think all the fresh will succumb to 65 degree temps by this friday

I was up skiing Sunday and it was great! The moguls on Ramrod were really fun. Thanks for not grooming them.

The last time we made snow was late December. The man made stuff is still the foundation in our central corridors. Having 40 feet of natural stuff on top of it sure helps.

Sydney, Nebraska or Sydney, Australia?
