We're making snow!

The snow guns were turned on at around 4:00pm today. The race has begun!

Al - I would just like to thank you for the time you take to blog. I'm on the east coast and only get to CO to ski once a year (and A-Basin is one stop). I get great pleasure in reading the blog on a regular basis. You don't delegate the task to some newbie on the front office. Other CEO's should take notice.

Thank you!

I check the blog regularly and am excited to see the guns running. How much base is usually built per day (or week) of running the snow guns?

Mountain operations are what fascinates me. (OK, the skiing is fun too!) I would love to be a fly on the wall during the daily meetings to hear the discussions, the decisions, and the reasons behind what goes on. Love the photo showing, I guess, the pump control board. There is a whole story behind the scenes that the skiers never see or hear, and probably take for granted. Any future photos, stories, or "lessons" will be appreciated!

I am curious. How much snow does the average gun produce in an hour
