High Divide and Pali

We have two good openings Saturday. The new High Divide Park just below mid-mountain will open first thing in the morning. The Terrain Park crew, DQ, Tyler and Nate, have been working their butts off this week getting the park ready. Park riders will find more room, more features, and a really fun park.

Pali Lift is ready to go first thing in the morning. A mid day spin down Slalom Slope found some great chowder and fun skiing. The place feels extra good when that lift is turning.

Jumps, jumps, jumps

Seriously! Where are the jumps?!!! Seems like the last few seasons they have been seriously lacking at the basin. Let's get with it!

Jumps! Seriously A-basin you need to get with it in this respect. Not having a huge terrain park full of jumps like Key or Breck is acceptable, not having any jumps at all is not!!!!

Agreed....jumps. One night of snowmaking. I make jumps in my yard off less snow.

I think this has been asked for before...is abasin mot listening?

Get some my manners and stop acting like a 1 year old.

If you please, sir, I humbly submit that some jumps might be a well-received addition to the park.

With such a great snow making season why not build jumps?

Thanks everybody. We definitely realize many people want jumps. You are certainly being heard.

i am sorry but people should be stoked the park is being increased! if you want jumps there are plenty of other resorts with jumps! be thankful!

"Plenty of other resorts with jumps?"

Hunh? I'm not sure the logic of that statement. It seems any time anybody makes any sort of "constructive criticism" about the Basin (wifi, cell reception, lift concerns, smoking weed, etc) somebody chirps out "go to another resort."

I'm fairly certain Al isn't keen on people "just going to another resort." I'm betting he wants full parking lots, restaurants/bars and lots of lift ticket sales.

The jumps people people are talking about in this particular park existed two years ago. They were very much beginner level jumps, but super fun. It didn't all of a sudden turn A-Basin into Area 51, but it made the park a great playground for kids and underskilled adults. Fun watching from the lift as well. Sure, it takes effort, but the snow is probably there for the making to put these in fairly easily. It is a valid concern and I know most people that like to go through the park like a variety of features.

"Plenty of other resorts with jumps..." sheesh.

was there today and really bummed by the park. i hate to be ungrateful but i feel this park was built to cater to people who have no idea what they are doing, and is definitely a downgrade from the early park. though i totally understand making features approachable to all i think there should be some to make other more "park savvy" ABasin riders happy. just a comment. i am not really familiar with ABasin's mid-season park and i have seen a lot of awesome features laying around! lets use them!
