Larry and Marnie Jump

As many of you know the original President and Founder of A-Basin was Larry Jump. He and his wife, Marnie, were pivotal players in the opening and establishment of A-Basin. It is fair to say that without Larry and Marnie, there would be no A-Basin. We have dedicated the North wall of the new "6th Alley Bar and Grill" to Larry and Marnie. There are several great images of them and The Basin along with a narrative of their contributions. Be sure to take some time to pay homage to these extraordinary contributors to A-Basin and Colorado ski history.

Alan, Just wanted to say thank you to you and the staff at the Basin for honoring my parents in this way. They were incredible individuals who loved what they did while developing this magical, beautiful place.

Sincerely,

Mike and Sloan Jump

I can't resist...

How about honoring the Jumps with some.....[pause for effect]....jumps. :-)

Seriously, great display and tribute to the Jumps. Look forward to seeing it in person.

Visited today and the bar was packed. Overall, great space, but something is still missing. There is something a little too sterile about the place - for A-Basin, at least.

It sort of reminds me of that 9280 restaurant in Keystone (or whatever it is called today). Just a bit too restauranty/sterile...in some ways it feels like the cafeteria space at the base of Peak 8 in Breck.

There are great ski bars and there are great ski bars and it feels like the 6th Alley is still missing a few items to give it that true A-Basin touch. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm hoping there are still a few final touches coming.

Do love the extended bar space, the windows/light, the added TVs, the lift chairs, higher tables, etc. Again, just something missing to really make it great.
