Another Snowy Day

With 8 inches of new snow today, A-Basin skiers and riders are enjoying another powder day. Saturday's 10 inches was a very light, blower pow kind of snow. Today's snow had just a little more body to it. I don't mean stiff or bad, just a little bit more body. The snow is excellent and is bonding to the older snow very nicely. Outstanding skiing. This storm is excellent for the "Zuma Project."

Al, Those look like "desk" photos. i think you need to get out a bit more and take better photos :). If I need to call your boss and let him know, I will

So the 10 inches is mostly blown away?

Hopefully this means that you guys can take down some ropes!
Lots of great terrain at the Basin.
Breakfast rocks! Come out early, stay late!
Love this place, thanks for all the hard work everyone.

No, it has not blown away. The skiing is fabulous, especially for mid-December.

Hello Al, I would like to compliment you about your ski area. Although smaller in size than some others A-Basin is one of my favorite areas in the US. I love the place. As a guy who skied briefly on the pro tour, raced in college at The American College of Switzerland and attended CU Boulder, I have skied your place many times along with many other areas around the world. Today you wrote on you blog about your Pav chair. The area it accesses is fantastic as you said but my only complaint is that you have no safety bars on the chair. I am sorry but I fear any chair with no safety bars and that includes yours. I get on these chairs and hold on for my life and I am scared the whole ride up. Not only can chairs become slippery in snow and ice but winds make things even worse. From a skier who has skiied the world and loves the sport do us all a favor and put safety bars on all of your chairlifts. I hope you consider this. P.S. Its not like I am scared of everything I have been timed at skiing down your mountain in 1 minute 5 seconds from the top of Lewanee Face to the bottom of the mountain at the Black Mountain Express chair loading area in my younger age. I challenge anyone and everyone to beat that time. Steve Davimos
