The Backside

Here is a view of the backside of The Basin. From center to left you see The Notches, Little Lenawee Peak, top of Zuma Lift and West Zuma. Almost dead center is Lenawee Mountain with Maid of Orleans slide path running down to Peru Creek. Center to right is Chihuahua Gulch and Torreys and Grays Peaks.

Was this picture taken from around Sante Fe Peak?

Yes, about 1 1/2 miles NE of Santa Fe Peak on the ridge line just above timberline.

I fully expected this post to be about what you are going to show all your doubters.

Looks ideal. When does the lift go in?

How about a gondola connecting araphoe to loveland ? 1 ticket to both resorts.
Just a idea.

Al while there are no skiers and with any snowfall you get while shut down will this help to extend the season whenever you do get to open? Are you doing any kind of work on the mountain to stock pile snow?

Adding on to the question above and I know this may fall into the dumb question realm but here we go. Would it be advantageous while the mountain is empty to fire up the snow making guns to try to build some snow whales? Would this even help extend the season? Hoping for the best.

Snowmaking is regulated. The last day was in Dec. As much as I am dying to carve some lines, even Summit County first responders are asking people to stay home. Even an inbounds accident would take resources from potentially sick people.

This is just my take, I would not be able to live with myself if I take a hospital bed from a covid-19 patient.

The little "trail" that extends to the right at the bottom is a avalance chute that usually slides to the left of the house at Maid of Orleans.

Several years ago it hit the house destroying it and some of the house was pushed on the Peru Creek Road.
