Finally, it is here. We will be opening for the 2010-11 Season Monday, October 25. We had a better than expected night snowmaking. I also just brushed 7" of snow off the new snow stake. Tim, Mark, and I just walked the trail. Looking good. We look forward to good snowmaking Saturday and Sunday nights. The cats will be all over the trail Sunday getting it ready. October sure seemed to drag on with all that miserable and beautiful weather, but winter is roaring at Arapahoe Basin right now. With good streamflows, a nearly full reservoir, and a cold forecast, I expect we will be expanding terrain rapidly.

Its datz whoop whoop, you know what im sayin', its dem whistle tips....datz only in the mornin.
Very cool! I miss Octobers in CO so much and the annual race to be first. Worked base crew at the Basin in 1980. Anyone know of an alumni club? Maybe on the evil FB? Searched but couldn't find anything.
Here's hoping for continued snow and cold temps so more terrain can open at the Basin and also at the other Summit areas. I want to ski so badly, but just can't justify making the trip from CA until more terrain is open. Have fun and be careful out there!
You were so close, if you just broke tradition and opened on the weekend you would have tied or even won - stupid Loveland. Anyways, good job still the snow looks great- can't wait to ride ill be there asap
A-Basin... I love you!!! I might just have to skip school this week.
So ready to be there. Great work everyone. Good to see the groomers out !! Thanks for a great blog Al.

Al question, i was looking at the terrain report for loveland and they have 40 acres of terrain open and you only have 20..is there that much of a differencein the run they open and you open? or that they have way more snowguns or something??
