USA Pro Challenge Comes To A-Basin

It's true........Arapahoe Basin will host the finish of Stage 2 of the 2015 USA Pro Challenge Tuesday, August 18. If you follow this blog, you know I am a big fan of the race. Ever since the race began, all of us at A-Basin have known that we could be one heck of a host. The planning for the event has just begun. There are countless issues to sort out, but there are a few things we know for certain. We are going to have some fun. You can count on world class athletes thrilling the fans. You can count on a lot of good music and good food. This will be a very cool, benchmark, Arapahoe Basin event.

Stage 2 Steamboat to A-Basin. Uphill finish at 10,000 ft plus with a 5 mile climb from Keystone.

Sounds like a great stage.

The last bike race I remember at A-Basin was a Montezuma’s Revenge stage to the top of Loveland Pass then the Lenawee Trail down to Peru Creek and back to Montezuma.

This so awesome. Great job Al. I will buy you a cold one if I see you this year. Hopefully camping will be allowed at least in the upper lot. Monarch failed when they did not allow camping last year.

Here is an idea. Position some web cams to view the parking lot and Highway 6. It would be interesting to see in the week of the race, and especially the day or two of the race, what the preparation looks like.

I am sure a lot of work will be going on in the late afternoon and evening before race day. Extend the hours of the web cams for those days.
