Strange season,ups and down....

People line up for for 1 run at Fleastone in Oct/Nov but lose interest in late season.
Being one of the earliest in the nation to open and latest to close it all turns into economics. If people don't come and spend, the ski area isn't making money.Sure there's still some snow, and they might have enough to reopen next weekend, but breakout the golf clubs or boat instead.

I remember 95,top to bottom on 4th of July and closing in August. No snowmaking then for those who do not remember or know.

See you in October (:

Thanks to you and A-Basin! Looking forward to your summer blog posts, then the 'when are we going to fire up the snow guns' and 'when are you going to open' posts.

Hey Al, it was a great season.
I heard a rumor in the 6 th alley yesterday that at least one of your employees won a pretty big honor this year.
Anything you'd like to share in the blog ?
Thanks TM

Nice Jurassic World tie in, Lake Reveal looks like a dinosaur claw print from the air. Hope you have a good but short summer.

Is skinning allowed now that the season is over?

Al-

Thank you and your staff for another great season.

There is something exceptional about the basin, you can't narrow it down to one thing-

It's seeing my goats at 13k, its the comrodery of beaching it with fellow riders, its first laps on pali on a pow day....

Another aspect that makes it unique is the ability to stay open long after other resorts. As a passholder for 10+ years Im disappointed with the decision to close early especially with top to bottom coverage.

I ask that you support the locals that support your mountain, and if a similar snowpack is avail next year, open up sat and sun only if revenue is an issue

Top to bottom coverage? Maybe today. Starting to look pretty marginal thru the base webcam. And with the upcoming hot forecast, pretty questionable whether there would still be quality coverage to the base by Sunday.

Looks to me like Al's made a pretty good call to shut things down....
