Oh My Goodness

Today was absolutely incredible. We had 10" new at report time and at least 4" more since then. It snowed heavily until about 9 AM and lightly for another hour or two. It was a big day for us operationally. The snowcats put a lot of time into the Upper Mountain. They put in some tilled surfaces, tracked packed a lot of ground and pushed some snowmaking piles. The Ski Patrol continued their extensive travel with ski cuts in Lenawee Parks, Norway, King Cornice and The West Wall. They tossed some shots into The Nose, Slalom Slope and  ........... PALI. We did have a bit of a slide involving 2nd Bowl and The Face. Lots of snow with this storm. We are just in a great spot with nice weather forecast the next few days and snow next week. The place is shaping up nicely.

Hi, small comment - can you update the menus on the Dining link for 2015/16

Apres menu, Pork Street Tacos - really, really good.

Was the slide natural or caused by a shot or skiier or what? Details appreciated for those who actually ski these mountains.

Curious why you didn't groom at least one of the open runs yesterday just before opening? Sure it may have been great powder for one run for the lucky few. But im sure all could have enjoyed corduroy turns the rest of the day rather than dodging bumps and ice on the only open runs.

What?? Grooming 10" of powder is blasphemy!

Great comment on grooming. Thank you. We did groom both of those trails. A significant amount of new snow fell and a significant amount fell into the morning after the cats were clear of the hill. Even if we would have groomed at 10 AM after most of the snow fell, the new snow still would have been very soft and skied into that lumpy of a surface. Sorry, we didn't have what felt like groomed skiing, but that is the price we pay for getting 14"(felt like more) of snow in 12 hours.

Please leave the groomers off the snow when we get snow, the skiing was great yesterday! The less grooming the better.

Sooooo. Lenawee opening tomorrow?

What is the earliest Pali has opened in the past? Maybe a record gets broke this year?

Great pictures Al, I appreciate it. The backcountry in me cringes at grooming that much powder but if I think way back I remember it use to be very difficult to ski powder. Thanks for managing this mountain so well. A basin rocks
