New Webcams

We have two new web cams for you. The first is on the new Kids Center facing Pali. That view had been requested from a number of people. The second and really exciting is on Snow Plume Refuge. This camera is a much higher tech piece of equipment than we have ever had before. The images are high resolution and you can do a time lapse sequence checking out the previous 24 hours. Enjoy.

So what kind of technical challenges on webcams and other IT stuff does the mountain provide? I always wonder if the mountain has ethernet, fiber, or wifi coverage for "administrative/operational" purposes running all over it. I am guessing you face some pretty interesting IT efforts due to the mountain conditions. Cell coverage has to be another one. Did century link pull fiber all the way to the base? Just some ideas for another blog article.

Would love a snow stake cam. It's exciting to see snow accumulating and know you got some freshies!

Love the new cam, and I would echo the request for a snow stake cam.

A " snow stake" cam only focuses on one spot on the mtn. For most ski resorts it is located in an area that gets more snow than the rest of the mtn........just look at the webcams, and go riding..
Or
If you want more data go to CAIC's web page, then go to observations, then weather stations, then Abasin, and you will find the info you are looking for.
Just sayin

The new webcam looks amazing today. I've found myself just staring off at it and wishing i wasn't at work.

Don't put a snow stake cam up.
