So I have to ask, how did people get to the mountain? CDOT reported US 6 closed in both directions since at least 6am.

The road was closed just East of A-Basin. You can access the area from Keystone on Highway 6. Very rarely, Highway 6 does close between Keystone and A-Basin. This happens maybe every 5-10 years. Normally when you hear Highway 6 / Loveland Pass is closed, you can still get to Arapahoe Basin from Keystone.

Thanks for the clarification. The cotrip map showed the closure west of abasin. I ended up settling for breck instead 😕

It happened last year. That's the first time I remember it in a long time. Plus as I recall it had much to do with the wind not the snow

I thought it had to do with an avalanche.
