Last Day Pali Tuesday

The last day for Pallavicini Chairlift this season will be Tuesday, May 19. A whole lot of factors come into play as we decide when we close this lift. Some of those are weather forecasts, wet snow avalanche concerns, quality of snow surface, ski-ability, amount of public interest, lift ridership, and more. We were going to close it today (Sunday), but there is a reasonable chance for a decent storm Monday night and Tuesday on top of the 6 inches we reported this morning. These might be some of the best Pali closing conditions we have seen. We thought we'd throw in a couple more days of fun in case this storm happens. Enjoy.

i also spent Sunday skiing 'nothin but Pali' and thank the Ski Patrol for keeping it open as long as they did. Bang up job. Al said it best, Pali skied like mid-March this weekend.

do you think the upper east wall will make it until next weekend?

Coming out to ski for my 50th b'day on Wednesday. Would be a heck of a present to keep it open through the 20th!

If you don't have enough lift ops, why not close Zuma and keep the Pali lift open as long as possible?

Will the season be extended past June 7? It appears that there will be plenty of snow.

anon 8:42, as Pali is mostly/all advanced/extreme, you don't want to close Zuma & its blues. You want to spread that large intermediate crowd out between Lenawee & Zuma as long as you can. I don't get the sense it's a matter of lifties anyway.

I'm with others in echoing a fond farewell to Pali. A week ago today, rode nothing but. I'm convinced that should be a folk song, "Nothin' but Pali."

I was planning on coming up Wednesday to get one last go on Pali after the Monday and Tuesday snow, no chance to add one more day?

Yes one more day would be a blessing!

Sad news. Sounds like temps will be cold enough that it should still be good, safe skiing.
Please tell me you aren't keeping zuma open, and closing Pali !

One more day... one more day... Heard you guys might get up to another foot of fresh by Wednesday am! All together now: one more day... one more day... :-)

PS: Ski Patrol did a great job, as always, this season keeping the place safe and fun!

All this snow and unseasonably cool temps...surlely Pali can make it at least one more weekend?

It seems surprising that with more snow and freezing temperatures at night in the forecast through memorial day weekend, that Pali has been pre-determined to close. If the issue is staffing, then why not close Zuma and keep Pali open as long as possible?
