Lenawee on Saturday

I know, I know, finally. We are opening Lenawee Mountain Lift on Saturday. Lenawee Face and Dercum's Gulch will be available. The new beginner conveyor, Pika Place, will also open Saturday. It will be great skiing and riding. You know other mountains have more terrain, but you also know the best skiing will be at The Basin. This will be fun. See you Saturday.

Al do not downplay your terrain status. The other local resorts have one run open.

One 70 acre run is still more than two runs totaling 20 acres...STILL, gotta love the Basin!

It's true keystrone will have 6 trails open this weekend and breck I believe will have 4 trails but the basin is unique and a legend of its own

The other resorts do not have one run open! Keystone is gonna have 6 or 7 tomorrow. And how do you know it is going to be the best skiing at a-basin?

This is such B.S. you guys could 100% have that run open on friday. That is the best part of the basin is it caters to the locals and opens alot of runs midweek. I guess not this yr. Very Very Very dissappointing. Not to mention, I have a 5 and 3 yr old waiting for molly hogan to open. I got a A. Basin only pass this yr for the first time since 2001. Guess I made a mistake. Looks like it will be a colorado pass from now on out. Was gonna hit up the basin in morning because of the Al's post stating ( On monday, mind you) that top to bottom skiing would be open later in the week ( you should have said on saturday, AL ). Looks like I will be spending extra 40$ and hittin up loveland. They opened later this yr but the run is 3x's longer and snow is 100% better. Thx basin what a joke, F-in Bullshi-t

It's ALWAYS the best skiing at the Basin!

Al, new website looks great, but what happened to the mountain goat? He was like the unofficial mascot for A-basin. Gotta find a place for him on the new site!

To the anonymous complainer above, go ski ANYWHERE else, we don't need your negativity at the most layed back fun place to ski in Colorado!

Why would you complain so much. They obviously would open as many runs as possible if they could. People like you are the reason Al is probably hesitant to make predictions on when runs will open.

I am CO native that moved to NC last year and I am coming back tomorrow to ski the Basin all of next week. Very excited for the top to bottom to be open.

Out of all the ski areas I dream about skiing again, A-Basin is the most frequent one.

Well, I guess you can't please everyone. :)

I trust the pros at A-Basin to know when it is appropriate to open the runs. I had fun skiing at the basin last week even though the runs were short; the snow was good and it wasn't a demolition derby like at Keystone.

THANKS AL! I LOVE A BAY! BE THERE THIS WEEKEND!

To the B.S. guy complaining so much... You do realize it is NOVEMBER 16 right??? How are you getting this bent out of shape over this? Al said the top half was going to be open this weekend and it is. would you rather it open up with some spots that were too thin? Don't you think that if they thought it was ready for today they would have opened it today? I bet your 5 and 3 year olds aren't whining as much as you are right now.

Actually, I think I would rather it open with some thin spots. I grew up in NC; what's already open at Abasin would be better than peak season back there. It can be frustrating sometimes knowing that back home, we'd ski on whatever we were given, and out here, things almost have to be perfect before they'll be opened.

I know there's liability stuff, I know you a good product is important, but sometimes I think back to when I was growing up and the slopes were 50% mud and 25% rednecks in jean shorts.

Will you be whining when you are skiing in May at the Basin and every other resort has been closed for a month. Please stay home

Its Nov 16. Heard people complaining that they should half of the mountain open.

More than half of CO resorts are still closed

And why do you need alot of runs and acres if your kids need Molly Hogan. Poor kids have to listen to you whine on the drive.

Anonymous = Tool

You should no longer be welcome at the best mountain in the country. Go to Keystone and stand in line.

This "anonymous" guy is a tool. Al is the greatest! The Basin is the best early and late season always. No question. Go to Keystone, it isnt even Thanksgiving yet.

Thank you Al and A-basin team! Your updates keep me going through a long work week! Can't wait to be up there this weekend.

that's great news. thanks for the update Al. My friends and I will be there this Sunday.

Al, you can tell when you are doing things right when so many people come out to defend THEIR Basin instead of YOUR Basin. Keep doing it right Al.

Abasin is the best for my family! Don't listen to that person ! I have a 5 and 7 YO that both started at the basin when they were 3
Cannot imagine a better place for kids to start skiing.

I can't imagine complaining when it's obvious these guys put in everything they have to open runs as soon as possible, while keeping the informative updates coming along during the process. Last season, we came up first time during Christmas and it was so windy only High Noon and Ramrod were open. You find a way to do the best with what you have ... my 6 yr. old son and I just alternated racing down these two runs and I have to say I kept warm just trying to win...We look forward to coming up again this Christmas regardless of what's open (although we'll definitely come up again when Pali & Zuma cornice are ready)...

Skied A-Basin, Breck, Keystone, and then a few runs at Vail on Saturday (have to make it a game this time of year, right?)

A-Basin had BY FAR the least amount of people and the best conditions.

Thank you all, looking forward to a new season.

You should stop talking all this crap about the anonymous guy! He is a little mad because his kids have nothing to ski on and I would be too if I were him. And also, stop saying sh-t about Keystone. Most of you probably haven't even been there yet. I have been there twice, and let me tell you. It's probably the best in Summit County. Barely any lift lines, terrain park with 25+ features, and 9 runs!!! And snow is A LOT better too.
