Full Moon

Gavin Rudy sent me this photo of The Basin lit up by a near full moon Friday night.

I can barely tell that is nighttime...are there other lights or is that all the moon?

No, that ain't the wrong picture...I'm the first anonymous by the way. Look, you can see the stars. Are there snow groomers lighting up the night?

Groomers wouldn't get light everywhere, and they wouldn't cast a constant shadow in the same direction

It's an open-shutter photo where he keeps the shutter open longer to let more light in. Makes it look like daytime. With a full moon, probably didn't have to stay open too long to capture that.

It looks like it's a long exposure judging by the slight streak of the stars. Gives it the effect of being this bright.

Stars = nighttime, I thought it was the wrong photo at first, too. Wow.

The long exposure does brighten things up. I thought the stars are pretty cool.
