The Upper East Wall Is Coming Soon

Good news on the Upper East Wall. Many of slide areas have refilled or are refilling. We did do a brief North Pole opening this afternoon. Further openings will be weather and conditions pending. Snow is forecast for this evening and again later in the week. With each storm we hope to pack and retain the snow while giving folks a chance to enjoy the fun. This is a perfect set up. The Upper East Wall is off to a great start and will continue to build way into the spring.

East Wall At Its Best

Sunday was an extraordinary day to remember. We reported 8" new and 16" in 3 days. Everywhere we skied was fantastic. The North Side was really cool. Those special lines, like Hot Wheels, are in great shape. Kay and I skied with some old friends and some new friends. It was just really fun. What was meant to be a couple of hours of skiing in the morning turned into a full day on the hill.

The Ski Patrol did all their prep work and opened the East Wall mid-afternoon. That was unbelievable. One of the premiere A-Basin experiences is to catch a Wall opening after a foot of new snow. We did that and took three laps out there skiing uncut snow each run. The best.

We topped off the ski day with good friends, lots of laughs, and an early dinner in The 6th Alley. Perfection.

Powder, Kid's Club and Rio

Another great powder day. It snowed heavily just about all day. The 4 inches at report time skied more like 8 inches when the lifts open. Today was the last day for this season's Kid's Club. The young skiers and riders spent a bunch of time with the Ski Patrol learning safety tips. Avalanche dog Rio, as usual, was the crowd favorite. The interstate was a bit troublesome today. I know some of you had a hard time getting here. It is closing time right now and it is still dumping. Tomorrow might even be better than today. Enjoy these fine photos from Adrienne Saia Isaac.

91 Inches In February

We saw 91 inches of snow in February. The 35 year average for snowfall that month is 44 inches. So... a pretty good month. This morning we reported 4 inches new and it is snowing heavily right now. The new snow on top of yesterday's already great skiing should bring another pretty happening day. Drive safely and come join the fun.
