Summer Sundays

While the weather is still summer-like, compared to Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, things have cooled down a fair bit. The skiing is still fun and runoff has slowed down a bit. I like getting out first thing when the snow is just barely soft. Some people like getting here a little later when the slush is deeper. Whatever your preference, sneak in a few runs before that afternoon bike ride or paddle.

9 Mountain Goats

I counted 9 mountain goats on Little Lenawee Peak this morning, but only fit 8 in this photo. They were just hanging out enjoying the view. As long as you keep a significant distance away, they don't seem to mind skiers and riders. Next time you are riding Lenawee Lift in the spring or Summer, but sure and look to the East (your left) near the top. Sometimes they are hard to spot, but they are often there.

Also had another beautiful day of skiing, riding, and sunshine.

I counted 9 mountain goats on Little Lenawee Peak this morning, but only fit 8 in this photo. They were just hanging out enjoying the view. And the lifts are turning again. The cat drivers did a beautiful job last. I went for several runs first thing this morning. The groomers were really fun, particularly High Noon and the West Wall.  I saw a lone mountain goat wandering around Little Lenawee Peak. We have perfect blue skies right now for a perfect day of summer skiing.

Ramrod and Lake Reveal Updates

I have a few more updates. After further review, Ramrod will be open for slush bumping tomorrow. A few bare spots are poking through, but there is still a bit of skiing to be had there. You can see in the top photo that a wet spot popped out on Lake Reveal. We had a couple of cat drivers working all day getting the trails ready. They just left and the next crew will be in this evening to add the finishing touches. I think you will like the surface tomorrow.
