Summit Quest

Every snowmaking hydrant is being used on Ramrod. Getting that trail open is our top current priority. The next step beyond Ramrod is to get open to the Summit. We have had six fan guns running above Black Mountain Lodge in prepration for the Summit move. When Ramrod opens, we will move the remaining equipment up to Lenawee Face and Dercum's Gulch for our Summit Quest.

Good Night On Ramrod

We had a good cold night with a morning wet bulb low of 22 F. The snowmakers had a great session on Ramrod. I walked down the trail while the fan guns were still running and I was impressed. We have made some good headway there. While the warm, sunny Fall has had some advantages, I am anxious to put that silly weather behind us and get on with the serious cold and snowy weather.

A Couple of Inches

Today started with couple of new inches of fresh snow. That snow fell after the snow had been groomed so there was two fluffy inches on corduroy. I heard a few people say "best day of the season." After the storm, the sun popped out and we had another beautiful Fall day. Lots of skiing's diehards were out today. The Professional Ski Instructor of America, the American Association of Snowboard Instructors and several freestyle and alpine race ski teams were making the best of High Noon. It is a pleasure to be around people that are so enthusiastic about skiing and riding.
