Season Passes
It is time to start thinking about season passes. I suspect that if you are reading this, you already have next season's pass figured out. In case you haven't, there are four important things to remember about A-Basin passes. One, the earlier you buy the pass, the cheaper it is. We start selling passes in March and every few months we raise the price a bit. The next price increase is Tuesday, September 13. Make sure you buy before then. Two, existing season passes holders get a discount on next year's pass if they buy early. Three, we will sell a limited amount of unrestricted passes in order to keep the quality of the ski experience high. As of now, we have sold about 72% of the unrestricted passes that we are going to sell. And four, you get awesome bonus days at Monarch, Taos, Bridger Bowl, Silverton and Bluebird Backcountry.
The key take away is, if you or your friends have not bought your A-Basin pass, do it soon, preferably before September 13.

Four New Tower Fan Guns
We are installing four new tower fan guns on Lower High Noon. The new equipment arrived last week. We have already installed the foundations. The next time a helicopter is here working on the new lift, we will fly the new towers to the foundations.
This addition brings us to nine tower guns. They have distinct advantages. The towers are in place when snowmaking begins and there is no hauling equipment around with heavy machinery. Also, the towers are higher than a conventional fan gun. The higher the gun, the more loft/time for water droplets to freeze. Typically, we can make a little more snow with a tower gun. The one disadvantage is that the guns are not mobile. They only make snow in one spot.
We will keep looking for places to strategically put tower guns, ideally looking for places where a tower has a bigger impact.
