Cirque Series
600 runners came out for the Cirque Series today. The athletes ran 8.8 miles with a 2,411' vertical ascent on our trails and roads to the top of Little Lenawee Peak......... and back down. The winner strode into the base area with a time of one hour and five minutes. It was a very exciting and colorful event. These folks can run. Check out the Cirque Series website, Cirque Series

High Noon Fan Guns
Minus a few locations at the top and the bottom, the snowmaking fan guns are poised and in place on High Noon.

Marmot
While these critters are out of sight in winter, The Basin is crawling with marmots in summer. They are known for a sound piercing chirp which can be quite startling if close to the animal. At A-Basin, marmots can always be spotted in the summer any day above timberline, amongst the rocks.

Trail 5 - Getting Close
The Trail Crew is getting very close to connecting Trail 5 (soon to be officially named) to the Summer Road and the upper trailhead for the Halfmoon Trail. There have less than 200 feet to go. Stay tuned for updates later this week.

Face Shot Gully Crossing
Below are a couple of images from where the Beavers Loop Trail crosses Face Shot Gully. I am still not sure if "Face Shot" is one or two words. It is certainly one of those ski culture "invented" monikers.

Palllavicini Lift Re-vegetation
Whenever we do projects with ground disturbing activities, we have to rehabilitate and revegetate our impacts. Yesterday I rode Pali Lift and reviewed our reveg work from the 2020 lift replacement. It looks really good. In some places, it even look better than before the replacement. The area aroundTower 2, pictured below, has filled in very nicely.
