We will open for the season, Wednesday, October 17, 2012. After a final tour with Tim and Scott, we are ready. You can look forward to skiing and riding on High Noon. We will have a few terrain park features also. I am excited.
that is cool!! i was unable to afford a pass this year, and it has been pretty sad reading all your blogs, seeing the good snowmaking efforts in place, and now knowing that in two days, the Ledgend will be open and i wont be able to participate. Hope the season is a great one!! i look forward to getting my pass next year!!
Yea, the snow will be kinda crappy. Yea, there will be a ton of people. Who cares!?!? It's snowboarding in October and I've missed it. See you Wednesday!
I have a question and couldnt get an answer on the phone. So i am active military and bought a keystone/aBasin season pass from buckley and you have to take the temporary ticket to Keystone Only to get the actual photo ID pass. My question is this... Since Keystone's ticker office doesnt open till November 2nd, is there a way i can use my season pass without getting the photo taken yet? I am SOOOOOOOOO excited to hit abasin on wednesday but dont know if my pass will work till keystone opens.
My temp pass looks like what a regular day pass looks like and has a hole in it to attach it to something and has some barcodes on it too. Will i be able to use that?
Sorry so long! Just super excited and ive been following this blog for weeks and just realized this issue lol.
How can you complain? If you went 5 months without food you would be happy to eat a piece of bread! If you go 5 months without skiing you will take what you can get!
It is not Ice, the snowmaking is very good, as well as the Coverage. If you want deep powder, just wait a while. Hint - Do Not ski on the weekend in general... Especially early season as it will be Human Slalom Demolition Derby with everybody going 50 MPH Weekdays are cool, however... Will be there on Wednesday for my 40th season in Colorado :-)
Thank you for the replies everyone! I saw on the website for Keystone that they open Nov 2nd and when i called it was 845 am so that explains why i didnt get an answer.
VERY GOOD NEWS!
I know it is going to be a cluster **** at A Basin this early with the entire state on one tiny little run... but I just dont care. I have been having snowboarding dreams every night for like 3 months. Its my second season, so this was the first summer where I was actually waiting for winter. It was pure torture.
Im feelin you on that. Denver got like1/2 inch a few weeks ago and I was actually looking for a hill to go "snowboard/sled" down lol. I put my board on in the house and did some squats to get my muscles ready (sad, i know). I am SO looking forward to this terribly crowded and short run lol. Just dont bring any small children, might not be safe.
From an old midwest snowmaker groomer congrads on getting things ready for opening day. I know the time and effort the crews put in to do this. Enjoy your blogs and pictures. Have a great season!
