Montezuma Bowl

Tim, Bill, and Rob skied Zuma this morning. Tim took this picture at the bottom of the lift. We are off to a good start back there. The crew built several new snowfences over the summer that caught a lot of snow with this storm. We are going to start poking and prodding away on Columbine and Larkspur.

How has no one asked if it's opening by the weekend? Wild.

Because everyone is smart enough to know that it's not.

This is one of the best blogs in the business! I worked at the Basin one year but now ski in WV. We are cross country skiing in West Virginia today thanks to snow fences. It's great to see the Basin in such good shape and taking advantage of the wind!

West Virginia skiing? I pity you. Hope you get an occasional trip back to A Basin.

Hi Al, why is it that snow fences are used in Montezuma Bowl but not at Vail's back bowls?

Thanks!

You obviously haven't been following the blog much.

so basically AL said in so many words "Montezuma will open 5 days after the next big snow storm" or at least that's what I hope :D

How did Tim, Bill, and Rob get out of the bowl? Snowmobile? Hike? or Chairlift?
