NEW Arapahoe Sports Opens Today

After a very, very, busy summer, the NEW Arapahoe Sports opens today. Come visit Josie and her crew and check out the fun stuff she has found. You can count on more of what was carried in the past as well as lots of new things. Check out the goods from Patagonia, Marmot, Kuhl, Icelantic (yes, skis), Anon, Smith and more. All the new decks, stairs and ramps will also be open. Thanks for your patience through construction.

Rain rain go away. I've never been more depressed to see warm temperatures in my life. Summer and its wrath is ever so powerful, reaching further and further into the cold months... With above-average temperatures, I do not expect lots of snowmaking to take place in the next 10 days. Temperatures will cool a few degrees on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, so perhaps there will be some snow making at the higher elevations. But honestly, this is very unusual. If we don't get some decent storms and colder air into the region during the first two weeks of November, then we might be looking at the possibility of pushing back opening day for most resorts.

You don't have to take my word for it, but check the webcams at various resorts along with the forecasts.

To think that A-Basin's High Noon, bless its heart, may be the only Colorado ski run open until close to Thanksgiving is terrifying.

Looks great and great work!
Nice to see friendly happy staff in there already!
Keeping fingers crossed for some great snow news coming by mid-November.

By the way, if you HAVE to get a visual of some good snowpack right now even though it's up north with our Canadian Friends, check out the Whistler Blakcomb webcams. Yeah baby!

This is great! A-basin always needed a place to get a jacket or gloves. The hole in the wall in the back of the cafeteria didn't really cut it except for some sunscreen and stickers. I remember dropping a glove one day and having to drive all the way into town to get some more because someone picked it up and didn't return it to the lost and found.

Person with the above comment, I and opensnow expect to see a snowier last 3 weeks of november after seeing a temperature change of about 10-15 degrees after the 10th. This will also help fr thanksgiving. I suggest reading joel gratz's info on colorado at this website:
opensnow.com

This change will come with the front over the pacific finally breaking through to the US and we could see a major weather change. This was seen by both temperature models that joel used and we should all hope for this to happen. Also, dont put full trust in this as it may change because of the 15+ days out.

The real question is when we'll start seeing some more runs open up ;-)
