One More Day

I don't think tomorrow will be a good opening. I think it will be a tremendous opening. Yesterday's snowcat work was outstanding. We were able to keep the snowmaking system running all day long yesterday. This morning, at dawn, the wet bulb temperature was 11 F at mid-mountain. The snowmakers ran the system full bore all night long. Today will be another big day for the snowcat team. Coverage will be outstanding and, more importantly, the skiing and riding will be wicked fun.

Now that most of the snow is made, the Park Crew will spend today setting and shaping our rail features. Expect 2-4 features for Friday and we will keep improving on that. As the park comes together, I will post some pictures.

Will you remain open during the week, Monday-Friday, next week also?

Where will snowmaking be focused next? Ramrod, or is it easier to make snow up higher with borderline temps?

"...wet bulb temperature was 11 F " That must be a typo. Your low was around 30 F and your RH is around 20 which should give a wet bulb around 21 - 22 F. Are you sure you read 11 F?

In any case: awesome job up there. See you soon.

It says on the opening day page that they plan to stay open 7 days a week from opening day to closing day.

Hi Karl, Where are you getting your data? It was much colder than that last night.

Dewpoint at Loveland Pass was -34 this morning...so yeah...a very cold wet bulb sounds right.

Here is a good wet bulb calculator from NOAA. But garbage in still gives garbage out and I put garbage in. Then I mouthed off to Al. So my bad.
