Outlook For Snowmaking

This is The Basin, but not today. I thought a ski picture would be fun. We have had some warm, windy days. That should change tonight. The snowmaking forecast tonight looks decent. Tuesday and Wednesday night the snowmaking forecast looks good. Check the webcams to see if you spot a snowcat on the hill this week.

So glad I moved out west this year; Whistler's looking awesome can't wait till next year epic pass should include Whistler. And I will get to go back to the basin I really like it there.

I wish all the snow in the Pacific Northwest came down to Colorado and did us a favor. WE NEED IT. :(

I hope Colorado sees some of this massive storm on the western sea board next week. That's what many weather things are tracking is that in the last 5-6 days of October, this mega in the Pacific Northwest in the California region comes down to Colorado. Hope it happens nicely though to get those mountains ready to open.

I've tracked the webcam photos from the start of snowmaking and created a time-lapse video showing 3 frames per day for just about two weeks now. Shows an incredible transformation and then a not so fun view of the warm sunshine on the snow. The snow has receded a bit and lost some depth for sure, but looks better than I anticipated. I am thrilled to see the lows for this week and hope to see the Basin go past the point of no return and open up soon. \\
Cheers
