Snow Update

It was a little storm leaving about 1.5 inches on the ground.  Snowmaking was OK last night working primarily on Lenawee Traverse. A glitch slowed us down a bit, but tonight should be full on. The cat drivers continue to work on grooming and dozing. The forecast for the week looks incredible with bluebird, sunny days and cold nights.

I was skiing on Saturday at A-Basin, and for the entire day I had to deal with breathing cigarette, pot, and cigar smoke from people in the lift line.

I know there is a no smoking policy for the lift maze, but it was not being enforced or monitored at all. Basically, unless you have a way to enforce your policy, the policy means nothing. The smoking was extremely annoying and unhealthy for me, and many others.

You need to implement a program for enforcing the no smoking policy; otherwise I will no longer be skiing at A-Basin this season. I recommend having more signs in the lift maze, and actually delegating someone to monitor the situation every ten minutes. Also, if you had on the sign that smoking would result in loss of ski privileges for the day, I bet you would actually get people to comply with the policy.

You got to ski in october. Why don't you tell Al thanks and just appreciate the fact you were able to ski at all. You were outside, its not like u were in an inclosed place witb people smoking. Having someone on cigarette patrol in the lift line is pretty rediculous and i dont even smoke. Again, u were one of the lucky few hundred people in the entire country able to ski saturday so stop complaining and appreciate the opportunity Al and his crew gave you. Great job Al and the A basin crew!
