Time To Get Excited

Last night was another very good night of snowmaking. It got cold enough a little bit earlier than Friday night, so we started sooner and made even more snow. Tonight may be a bit warmish, but the rest of the week looks very good. For the last three weeks I have been counseling patience on the snowmaking front. Time to convert from being patient to being antsy. After the last two nights and looking at the week's forecast, we have something to be really excited about. This is so good.

If they pull the opening trigger on a fri/sat like they have the last couple seasons there will be longer than an hour wait for a couple hundred feet of vertical with people all around you who don't care at all about your space or your safety. My advice, sadly, is avoid this place on weekends until December. From direct experience, no matter how excited you feel... An hour and twenty minute wait in a group of disrespectful young adults all drinking beer and smoking pot... Then to have to share ONE very small run with ALL the people (and the lift line will start backing up onto the actual ski run, even more of a hazard).

If this is your first season, or if youre from a state that never gets snow, or if you like to sit in lines acting like a doofus with your buddies, have fun at A Bay. I will be at Loveland making real runs ;-). Sorry Al, I LOVE A Basin. Just not the weekends. It's not you, it's me.

Wow! What a party pooper. Who goes skiing early season and complains about everything? It's all part of the experience. You should kind of have a thick skin if you're going to be skiing or snowboarding. We're happy not to have you! I hope you stay at Loveland. A Basin for life!❄️

Sorry man not trying to be a downer. You can't really compare AB and Loveland. But my party was pooped on the last two seasons in a row early season at AB. Not trying to be overly negative just trying to inform people who might not know what the situation is.

Watching our 8 year old (great skier) getting plowed into from behind by an out of control person, this type of inherent danger can be avoided after the first couple weekends, and at Loveland is not an issue. I'm just letting people know you DO need to be thick skinned. And might wanna leave the kids at home until more mountain opens.

This is true and I'm sorry that someone hit your child. That's terrible. People definitely need to be more aware of their surroundings and the inability to stop on 18 inches of ice. No hard feelings Jon P. Early-season is kind of a crapshoot, but I still love it. I hope everyone stays safe & has a blast! It should be an epic season!!!❄️
