It is always a bummer when the snow report is inaccurate. And today it was way off. It snowed significantly after report time and it was deep. Skiing the East side of Zuma was really cool. Happened to be back there when the clouds lifted for a few minutes and, with all the new snow, the place really shined.
An old friend, Mike Dolan, stopped by a for a few turns. Mike was the Lift Operations Manager at The Basin in the early eighties and lived in one of the staff apartments for a couple of years. He was my boss in the Keystone/A-Basin days when I was the Rafting Manager down there. It was his first time back to The Basin in 22 years. We had a great time catching up and skiing the new snow.
